Slow weekend with some promises for tomorrow

December 21, 2014 by Gilad

I haven’t had much time this weekend, aiming to spend more time outdoors, but I managed to get  couple of things done with some excitement about tomorrow.

The Black Ale BIAB has moved to the fridge to get the carbonation settled after 2 weeks of priming. Tomorrow I’m planning to try the first one with the rest waiting for next weekend – this is something I’m looking forward to!

Another important task was splitting the batch from the last brew day to check how the beer reacts to 2 different hops in dry hopping – Fuggles and Goldings. The fermentation seem to have stopped on 1011 gravity (OG=1040) so the results are good.Hops experiement split batch Black Ale

The big is tomorrow – I ordered some spraymalt (dry malt extract) so tomorrow will be an experiment with 2 things – steeping and brewing using spraymalt. I’m planning on a lighter IPA style beer (or the like).

Catch up during the week with some BIAB tasting notes and another brewing day.
